The Role: Meadow Brook School seeks qualified candidates for a School Counselor position. Massachusetts Guidance Counselor or School Adjustment Counselor licensure is required. Responsibilities include:Create a welcoming and supportive environment that embraces diversity among individuals and ensures equitable opportunities for student learning and community membershipConsult and collaborate with collateral service providers in order to coordinate treatment planning and school based interventionsIdentify and assist students at risk in their social, emotional, behavioral, and academic adjustment to schoolProvide individual and group counseling services to studentsSupport students with conflict resolutionImplement whole class Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and anti-bullying lessons which support students in developing self-management, self-awareness, responsible decision making, relationship skills, and social awarenessCreate effective, individualized behavior plans informed by thorough functional behavioral assessmentsAttend crisis intervention and de-escalation trainingProvide crisis intervention and support as neededServe as the liaison and facilitate supports for students returning to school from absences related to mental health or behavior, including but not limited to hospitalization or out of district placementCoordinate the 504 process and develop effective 504 plansContribute to the development of IEPs and provide direct services to students as outlined in IEPsCoordinate the ACT (Assisting Children and Teachers) process and facilitate ACT meetingsProvide support and consultation to teachers regarding social, emotional and behavioral needs of studentsAssist with class placementPerform other duties as assigned by the building principalSchool counselors work 5 days before the school year begins and 5 days after the school year ends.>/i>Salary: Teachers Salary 25-26ELPS is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued, respected and are empowered to be their unique selves.
