POSITION DETAILS
Principal Activities

  • Be familiar with stakeholder needs (i.e. customer contracts, regulations, requirements) to assure that Quality requirements are built into the production process.
  • Interpret applicable ASTM, Military, DFARS and FAR specifications and other drawings to assure
  • Develop, implement, and improve Quality plans (ie inspection steps, tools, data required, sampling plans) including FAIRS, FAT/IAT, hold points, source inspection points
  • Perform Material certification reviews to assure supplied products meet material specs, drawings, and contract requirements. This may include RT.
  • Serve as Source inspection Liaison to customers. Work with the customer to arrange and host source inspection sessions. Assure that customer all needs and requirements are addressed.
  • Manage Nonconforming Material - Champion the MRB/SIR process with Quality Manager Oversight to assure issues are addressed in a timely manner and implement corrective action to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare and respond to customer escapes and corrective action requests (CAR). This includes preparing reports such as VIRS, VPARS, LOAs, and customer RCCA responses.
  • Drive continuous improvement through utilization of CIRCOR Operating System (COS) tools.
  • Work with manufacturing to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained. Mentor. Answer inspector questions regarding requirements. Assure people are qualified to their roles (NDT, Weld, RT sign offs supervisors, alternates, etc.)
  • Develop, create, edit and implement special process and quality system procedures.
  • Create, complete and maintain customer required documentation and archive according to customer requirements.
  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports and presentations as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external 3rd party and customer audits
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Geometric Tolerances and Metrology
  • Working experience with writing quality procedures for heavy industry parts.
  • Problem Solving: Solves problems using systematic analysis processes and industry-standard methodologies. Mentors others on effective problem-solving techniques, ensuring traceability and customer protection. Identifies assignable causes, implements robust data-based solutions, and addresses systemic root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications. Correctly implements changes in current processes to meet functional needs and contribute to continuous improvement. Applies best practices and innovative solutions to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Leads technical quality planning efforts to ensure customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes. Utilizes industry standards to guide quality planning activities, ensuring products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Monitors and adjusts plans to maintain high-quality outcomes.
  • Quality Process Management: Applies quality tools and methods (e.g., APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure the quality of products, processes, and services. Continuously monitors and improves quality processes to meet standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Measurement Science: Analyzes measurement processes throughout the traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty. Applies relevant measurement science (e.g., Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Radiation, Physical) to ensure accurate and reliable data. Implement improvements to enhance measurement precision and reliability. Demonstrates understanding of gage R&R, measurement correlation studies, and gage system capability studies as needed to identify measurement solutions, evaluate their applicability, and ensure continuous compliance to needs. Clear ability to train others on metrology basics.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines, be detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Experience with standards such as AS9100, ISO14001, ISO9001.
  • NDT – RT, PT, VT ,AWS welding requirements and inspection experience preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 advanced experience. Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint, TEAMS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or a technical field required.
  • Requires 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, including audit, in-depth understanding of quality concepts and principles.
