Accounting ManagerPosition Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to process improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger management, reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll review, and month-end close, preferably within a non-profit or healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review and approve accounts payable transactions and ensure timely payments.
  • Oversee payroll review and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and variance reports.
  • Monitor fixed assets and capital grant activity.
  • Collaborate with auditors and assist with annual audits.
  • Support system implementations and process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Complete annual 1099 filings and other regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of GAAP accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
  • Advanced Excel and proficiency with accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with system implementations preferred.
  • Non-profit or healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $ $ /yr.
