Join our finance team as an Accounts Payable Clerk, where your abilities will assist in the the smooth processing of our company's financial obligations. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for managing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Your proactive approach will support our commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence, empowering us to meet our strategic goals with confidence and precision.

Duties

  • Process and verify vendor invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Enter data accurately into accounting software such as QuickBooks, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions regularly to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable activities, maintaining compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Manage vendor communications regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and discrepancies to foster positive relationships.
  • Assist in month-end closing processes by reconciling the accounts payable ledger and preparing reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on general ledger reconciliation and analysis of accounts payable data.
  • Maintain organized records of all invoices, payments, and related documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying efficiencies in accounts payable workflows and recommending solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts like account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Experience working with data entry tools such as 10 key typing for efficient processing of invoices and payments.
  • Ability to analyze financial data accurately and identify discrepancies or irregularities promptly.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all transactions.
  • Strong communication skills for vendor interactions and cross-team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos is a plus for supporting benefits administration tasks.
  • Experience with non-profit accounting is advantageous but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $28.90 per hour
