Overview

Seeking an experienced
Workday Extend Developer
to design, build, and enhance custom applications within the Workday platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Workday Extend, core Workday architecture, and modern development practices. This role will collaborate with functional and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions that extend Workday's native capabilities and improve user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy applications using
    Workday Extend
    , leveraging Workday's development framework and API capabilities.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into Extend application designs.
  • Develop and maintain
    custom user interfaces
    ,
    business logic
    , and
    data models
    within Workday Extend.
  • Integrate Extend applications with Workday core modules such as
    HCM, Financials, and Reporting
    .
  • Utilize
    Workday REST and SOAP APIs
    for data exchange and automation.
  • Ensure applications adhere to security, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment processes using Workday's development tools.
  • Document application design, technical specifications, and configuration changes.
  • Provide post-deployment support, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience developing within the
    Workday ecosystem
    , including at least 1–2 years of
    Workday Extend
    experience.
  • Strong understanding of
    Workday's object model
    ,
    business processes
    , and
    security framework
    .
  • Proficiency in
    XTT (Workday Extend Template Tooling)
    ,
    JSON
    ,
    XML
    , and
    Workday Studio
    or
    Integrations
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    Workday REST APIs
    ,
    Prism Analytics
    , or
    Workday Orchestrate
    a plus.
  • Familiarity with
    UI design
    ,
    error handling
    , and
    debugging tools
    within the Workday platform.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
