Job Summary
The Veterinary Hospital Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our veterinary facility. This position requires a compassionate leader who is passionate about animal care and has a strong background in veterinary practices. The manager will ensure that the hospital runs efficiently while providing high-quality care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the veterinary hospital, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure effective medical collection processes are in place for client billing and payments.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for all procedures.
- Implement and monitor protocols for animal care, including handling, restraint, and grooming.
- Provide guidance on veterinary critical care procedures and assist with complex cases as needed.
- Foster relationships with clients through excellent communication regarding pet health and wellness.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient records using veterinary terminology and maintain confidentiality.
- Collaborate with veterinarians on treatment plans, including animal catheterization and laboratory testing.
- Promote an environment of continuous learning by encouraging staff development in areas such as dog training, kennel experience, and animal husbandry.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a veterinary setting with a strong understanding of animal anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory practices is essential.
- Experience in animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care is required.
- Familiarity with equine care is a plus; additional experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients and staff alike.
- A background in medical collection processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology or related field preferred but not required.
