The
General Electrical Superintendent (Atlanta, Georgia)
oversees all aspects of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. This role involves managing teams, coordinating with clients and other contractors, and ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.

General Electrical Superintendent Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership:

  • Lead and manage all phases of electrical construction projects, including planning, execution, and completion.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Team Supervision:

  • Direct and oversee on-site electrical teams, including foremen, electricians, and apprentices.

  • Mentor and develop team members, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.

  • Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.

  • Coordinate with other trades and contractors to prevent delays and resolve conflicts.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Inspect and review electrical installations for compliance with plans, specifications, and code requirements.

  • Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to maintain project integrity.

  • Safety Management:

  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to create a safe work environment.

  • Budget and Resource Management:

  • Monitor project budgets, track costs, and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.

  • Manage procurement and inventory of electrical materials and equipment.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any issues encountered.

  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to management and clients.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding project updates and concerns.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors.

General Electrical Superintendent Requirements

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3–5 years in a superintendent or leadership role.
  • Active journeyman or master electrician license.
  • Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as contract documents, specifications, contracts, and shop drawings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field workers and office workers.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Stable employment history.
