JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Analyst, Sales
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Manager, Sales
LOCATION: Portage, MI or Plymouth, MI
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining sales duties. Duties include, but are not limited to, researching industry information and trends in support of sales forecasting and pursuits; working with key stakeholders in engineering, manufacturing, finance and sales in support of the Sales Planning Forecast (SPF); maintaining the Sales Planning Forecast Tool; facilitating formal updates to the SPF and creating reports; managing the service tool disposition process and other special projects as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Under general supervision is responsible for the following tasks:
- Attain thorough understanding of the SPF App in Sharepoint
- Attain thorough understanding of the SPF update process
- Initiate and manage the SPF update process
- Enter or coordinate entry of all updates to the SPF
- Coordinate with the following teams to insure updated, correct information is entered into the SPF:
- Program teams for current part numbers
- Finance team for current pricing
- Material managers for take rates and customer release/forecast volumes
- Sales team for current volumes
- Ensure changes that impact the SPF are updated in a timely manner (part number changes. price changes, new business awards…)
- Work with extended team to suggest improvements to the functionality of the SPF
- Work with IT to define and implement improvements to the SPF App.
- Escalate to Sr. Sales Manager if deliverables are not being completed on time.
- Maintain data in all adjacent systems relative to New Business Development/Sales Pursuits
- Develop and maintain system for managing end of life for service tools
- Handle a variety of issues and problems with limited supervision and find innovative ways to overcome obstacles and improve operations which impact completion of own work
- Complete projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 3 plus years of experience in finance, customer service, administration or related field. Experience with forecasting is a plus.
- Bachelors Degree in a related field a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- General understanding of sales forecasting
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work with people at all levels throughout the organization
- Strong organization skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success in project management
- High level attention to detail in all work product
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Confidentiality
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 20 on the cognitive portion).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel at times may be needed between Summit locations and potentially customer locations.
