We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and effectively. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub for freight movement, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups while maintaining seamless coordination among drivers, carriers, and clients. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will drive operational success, optimize routes, and enhance overall logistics performance. Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine
  • Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve dispatch efficiency
  • Communicate with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette
  • Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and Transportation Management Software to track shipments, delivery statuses, and freight details
  • Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring timely dispatching of freight in compliance with customer requirements
  • Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle assignments, maintenance scheduling, and compliance tracking
  • Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and logistics operations

Experience

  • Proven experience in dispatching within a transportation or logistics environment
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning, freight management, and supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with GIS, GPS tracking systems, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine
  • Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization and operational efficiency improvements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
  • Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers is preferred
  • Proficiency in data entry with systems like AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
