Position: Director of Food Service

Location: Uniondale, New York

Shift: Full-Time | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000

Position Overview:

The Director of Food Service coordinates all aspects of food service for residents, ensuring high-quality meal production and service. This leadership role oversees staff, inventory, equipment, and departmental policies while maintaining compliance with quality assurance and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the preparation and service of meals for residents.
  • Evaluate the quality of food production and monitor food purchasing and inventory levels.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of kitchen equipment.
  • Manage daily staff activities, production schedules, and storeroom operations.
  • Participate in staff in-service training and professional development.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the Food Services Department, including QA and Infection Control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure consistent quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing home food service experience
