Position Overview
We are seeking an Outdoor Lighting Installation Supervisor with proven experience leading installation crews and hands-on knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems. The ideal candidate understands direct burial wiring, low-voltage transformers, and smart control systems, and can confidently manage both people and projects.
This role requires a strong communicator who takes initiative, leads by example, and upholds the high standards of Lux Lighting. You will oversee daily field operations, ensure top-quality workmanship, and serve as the professional point of contact between the crew, designers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise installation crews and coordinate daily project schedules
- Ensure efficient use of time, materials, and equipment on every job
- Communicate clearly with designers, management, and clients regarding progress and expectations
- Provide training, support, and mentorship to field technicians
Technical & Installation Tasks
- Assemble, install, and test low-voltage outdoor lighting systems
- Perform trenching, conduit runs, and direct burial wiring according to code and manufacturer standards
- Mount and wire low-voltage transformers and controllers
- Install conduits in interior/exterior environments where required
- Program lighting control systems and mobile applications (e.g., Luxor, WAC, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and maintain existing lighting systems for performance and safety
Operations & Site Management
- Oversee project quality control and final system testing
- Track labor hours, assist with payroll accuracy, and report expenses
- Maintain inventory of tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Ensure daily jobsite cleanliness and organization
- Conduct post-installation client walkthroughs and ensure satisfaction
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in landscape lighting, electrical, or construction leadership
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage installation crews
- Strong understanding of low-voltage systems and transformer wiring
- Comfortable with app-based system setup and lighting programming
- Professional appearance and communication with clients
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Physically able to lift 60+ lbs and perform outdoor labor year-round
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and pride in craftsmanship
Preferred
- Experience with FX Luminaire Luxor, WAC Colorscaping, or other smart lighting platforms
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and voltage drop calculations
