The StandardAero Trade Compliance Office (SATCO) is looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist. This role is responsible for supporting the organization's US trade compliance program by providing daily support for the import of products offered by StandardAero and ensuring compliance with customs and import regulations established by the US Government. This position reports directly to the Regional Trade Compliance Manager.
This role may be remote; however, it is preferred to be located near one of our facilities in the following cities: San Antonio, TX, Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, Maryville, TN, Cincinnati, OH and Kansas City, MO.
What You'll Do
- Ensures daily transactions and operations comply with US import regulations and requirements for StandardAero.
- Responsible for the maintenance and administration of US import processes and corporate tools at the various US locations to ensure compliance.
- Maintains strong working relationships, and actively cooperates with, internal and external customers, business partners, and applicable government agencies to ensure effective compliance and best practices.
- Maintains the policies and procedures in accordance with the StandardAero Import Compliance Manual, as well as other applicable internal compliance publications, policies, processes and practices.
- Assist Regional Manager on the development and maintenance of internal policies and procedures as they relate to compliance.
- Supports the Regional Trade Compliance Manager in providing useful trade metrics.
- Provides daily support, regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: HTS/Schedule B
- Product Classification, Import Customs Clearance to include permanent and temporary entries, Duty.
- Drawback Program, Federal Trade Regulations (FTR), Third Party Screenings and Visitor Control Management.
- Assists the Regional Trade Compliance Manager with external import audits (i.e., government agencies and external 3rd parties).
- Performs periodic internal import audits to ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements. Assists with investigations in areas of non-compliance and the execution of corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and training on US import regulations and internal policies and procedures to relevant StandardAero employees and business units.
- Ensures U.S. export-import recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
- Acts as a liaison with the respective Customs Authorities and Customs Brokers, as applicable.
- Represents StandardAero within the trade community (seminars, conventions, etc.).
- Carries out additional projects as assigned.
What Skills You'll Use
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
- Willing to travel (10%) domestic and international.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage/ import environment, required.
- Strong knowledge of US Customs requirements and regulations required.
- Knowledge of ITAR, EAR and FTR regulations.
- Knowledge of international and domestic freight systems and requirements.
- Experience with ACE Secure Data Portal
