Art Instructor for After School Program

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for elementary school students (Grades K–5) in a fun, safe, and creative after-school environment.
  • Introduce students to various art techniques, styles, and mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
  • Foster creativity and self-expression while promoting an appreciation for visual arts and cultural diversity in art.
  • Maintain a structured yet flexible classroom environment that supports both individual and group learning.
  • Set up and clean up classroom materials before and after each session.
  • Monitor student behavior and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Communicate effectively with program coordinators, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and any behavioral or safety concerns.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and request materials as needed

Qualifications:

  • Have a reliable transportation with valid driver's license
  • Prior experience working with children in an educational, camp, or after-school setting (preferred).
  • Strong classroom and behavioral management
  • Passion for the arts and a desire to inspire young learners.
  • Ability to adapt lessons for various skill levels and learning needs.
  • Background check clearance required
  • Flexible, adaptable with great communication and interpersonal skill

Pay rate: $60/class.

Job Location: Milpitas, Fremont, Palo Alto and vicinity area

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 per hour
