Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing insurance claims and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and insurance verification processes. The Insurance Coordinator will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate efficient operations within our medical office.

Duties

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments.
  • Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of managed care plans and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
  • Utilize CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 for accurate billing and coding practices.
  • Manage medical records and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance inquiries and billing questions.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide support in the dental office as needed, utilizing relevant dental office experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is required; dental office experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of managed care processes and medical terminology.
  • Proficient in medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10) and insurance verification procedures.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience handling medical records is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $ $29.12 per hour
