We are exclusively partnered with a key pharmaceutical client based in New York who are looking for an experienced
Director of Procurement
to lead strategic sourcing and supplier risk management across global operations. This role is critical to ensuring security of supply for raw materials and APIs, driving procurement excellence across the company's U.S. and international manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals overseeing global sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities.
  • Build and implement strategic sourcing strategies for raw materials, APIs, and other key inputs to minimize supplier dependency and mitigate business continuity risks.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard alternative suppliers globally to strengthen supply chain resilience across critical categories.
  • Coordinate procurement operations across multiple U.S. and international manufacturing sites, ensuring efficiency, alignment, and quality compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Operations teams to negotiate optimal terms around cost, delivery, and technical performance.
  • Manage supplier relationships and establish clear performance metrics to ensure compliance, reliability, and transparency.
  • Oversee procurement activities with international partners, including those based in India, ensuring consistency with organizational standards and global sourcing objectives.
  • Champion process improvements and procurement best practices to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and supplier diversity initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of procurement experience within the life sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrated success leading global sourcing and supplier qualification programs for APIs, raw materials, or regulated components.
  • Strong familiarity with international supplier markets, particularly within Asia and India-based manufacturing ecosystems.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing procurement teams.
  • Agile, hands-on professional comfortable operating within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
