The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager / Key Holder to partner with our Owner/Store Manager in launching and running day-to-day operations at our brand-new Bricks & Minifigs location in Bedford Hills.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help establish our store culture, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and bring the LEGO brand to life in our community. It's a unique opportunity to shape a store from the ground up while being part of an established, growing franchise network.

What You'll Do

● Lead in the Manager's Absence: Act as an extension of the Owner/Store Manager, upholding store standards, policies, and culture whenever you are in charge.

● Deliver Exceptional Service: Greet every customer warmly, assist with product needs, and go above and beyond to create memorable visits.

● Promote the Brand: Assist with in-store marketing and engaging social media posts that showcase products, events, and the Bricks & Minifigs experience.

● Drive Sales: Identify customer needs, recommend solutions, and motivate the team to achieve sales targets.

● Oversee Operations: Assist with opening/closing the store, handling keys, arming/disarming the security system, and ensuring all operational tasks are completed on time.

● Manage Inventory & Purchasing: Support receiving, pricing, and merchandising; help with inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and assist in purchasing inventory as needed.

● Conduct Trades: Evaluate, price, and process customer trade-ins in alignment with store standards to maintain a strong product mix.

● Support & Mentor Staff: Provide on-the-floor guidance, coach team members, and help maintain a positive work environment.

● Coordinate Events: Assist with planning and hosting birthday parties, build challenges, and special events that delight customers.

● Maintain Standards: Ensure cleanliness, safety, and visual presentation meet brand guidelines.

What We're Looking For

Required:

● At least 1 year of retail experience in a supervisory, key holder, or similar role

● Proven responsibility for opening/closing and securing a store

● Strong customer service skills with a passion for creating positive experiences

● Experience with inventory management and loss prevention

● Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment

● Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

● Availability to work up to 40 hours per week

● Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions

Preferred:

● Previous sales experience, especially in front-of-house customer interactions

● Skills beyond traditional sales, such as party/event coordination, social media content creation, and LEGO set building/repair

● Interest in LEGO, toys, or hobby retail

● Ability to identify and price LEGO minifigures
