About the Role

The Software Development Manager will lead Qwikkit's development and QA team, overseeing the delivery of reliable, efficient, and scalable technology solutions that power our manufacturing, sales, and customer systems. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a senior developer ready to step into management and excited to work at the intersection of software, AI, and real-world manufacturing.

You'll manage a small, high-impact team (4 developers + 1 QA shared resource), drive process improvement, and support the rollout of AI-driven innovation across our applications.

This position can be remote, with travel to our Houston headquarters as needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the DevOps process, including backlog grooming, scope documentation, and sprint planning.
• Oversee code check-ins, deployments, and QA testing to ensure high-quality, reliable releases.
• Set standards for coding, code reviews, testing, and release pipelines.
• Mentor and coach developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows across the development lifecycle.
• Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) and close feedback loops on deployed software.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years as a senior developer.
• Proven skills in C#, Angular (not AngularJS), and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of Git branching strategies and agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development (70% of our current projects use AI).
• Strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and ability to balance hands-on work with leadership.

• Final Interview – remote or in-person, depending on location.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive base salary: $140,000 – $185,000 based on experience
• Profit-sharing of approximately (based on company performance)
