Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to efficiently handle materials, ensuring the smooth flow of operations within our distribution center. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

Duties

  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely.
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
  • Execute heavy lifting tasks as required, handling materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Support other warehouse functions as needed, including stock replenishment and inventory counts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution or material handling roles.
  • Familiarity with various equipment including forklifts, cranes, and order pickers.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems is preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
