Technology Systems Analyst

Position Title: Technology Systems Analyst

Department: 6300|Procurement

Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the Technology Systems Analyst (TSC) is the support and
maintenance of the finance business processes for the Office of Purchasing, Travel and LaCarte including
campus ERP (Banner), and other third-party systems supported by the Purchasing
team.

This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned
functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data
integrity, testing of system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows
for process improvement opportunities. The TSA also supports upgrades, patches,
testing, and other technical projects as assigned.  Recommend process/customer service
improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from
established policy. Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other
stakeholders (e.g. University departments, IT, Chrome River, PaymentWorks,
Cobblestone and implementation of e-Procurement System). Use project management
skills in managing projects. May provide overall project management for a given
Purchasing initiative. (40%)

Provide support for Purchasing including, but not limited
to, researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results or process
flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods
to meet requirements.  (20%)

Manage the PaymentWorks Vendor Management System to
streamline vendor registration process, enhance communication, and ensure
compliance to the benefit of the organization. This individual will verify that
vendor data is accurately transferred from the third-party system into the
University's ERP system. (10%)

Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries
utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard
reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by
running queries and analyzing data.  (10%)

Assist in the review, testing, and implementation of the system
upgrades or patches. Collaborate with functional and technical staff to
coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain Purchasing system tables.
Document process and results.  (5%)

Develop user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
Train clients on new processes/functionality. Train new system users. (5%)

Maintain awareness of current trends in Purchasing Business
Software with a focus on product and service development, delivery, and
support, and applying key technologies. Examine trends in information systems
training, materials, and techniques. Through classes, reading, or other
mechanisms, continuously increase both Purchasing knowledge and
application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.

Serve as the Office of Purchasing Web Ambassador, ensuring
the website delivers clear and accurate information for both the campus
community and external vendors.  (5%)

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in ERP software functional/technical analysis

-OR 6 years of experience in procurement or work with ERP software systems such as SAP, Oracle or Ellucian will substitute for the Bachelor's degree.

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:

-Strong understanding of Purchasing processes and data, including rules, regulations, and state requirements for Travel and LaCarte in order to ensure compliance.

-Strong understanding of database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools.

-Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.

Desired Qualifications:

-Experience with an Enterprise systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.

-Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects or software implementations.
