About the role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support company-wide financial and accounting projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, this position will partner with the finance and accounting teams to prepare monthly financial statements, drive accounting policies and procedures and assist with annual audits. Our ideal candidate brings strong foundational knowledge of financial accounting and reporting, problem solving abilities and strong communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity for any Accountant looking to immerse themselves in the data, processes and procedures of a growing start-up. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional experience in financial accounting or audit
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial statements
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and/or NetSuite
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience working in environments that require high focus, attention to detail and tactful, diplomatic communication 

What a typical week might look like

  • Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, expense schedules, reviewing account activity, and producing financial statements and management reports that accurately reflect company performance.
  • Build ad-hoc reporting for various departments in order to conduct accounting research & support informed decision-making across the business
  • Manage expenses within various expense lines & be responsible for accurate expense reporting
  • Assist with the annual financial audit by preparing supporting schedules & responding to auditor requests
  • Track and reconcile daily cash movements to ensure accuracy and adequate funds for ongoing business operations

  • Standardize our day-to-day accounting operations across Attain
  • Build automations around daily accounting processes
  • Document our general best practices for accounting policies and procedures
  • Support the broader finance and accounting team as we create cohesive solutions to continuously improve
