Custodian, West Brookfield Elementary School (2 nd shift, 2pm-10pm)

Report to Building Principal with daily assignments and directions issued by the Facilities Director/Head Custodian

Performs daily general cleaning and maintenance of school building and grounds

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to climb stairs, stoop, bend and climb ladders; be able to lift 80 lbs

  • Experience in custodial cleaning in an institutional facility setting preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily general cleaning and maintenance of school building and grounds per the schedule and standards provided through the Facilities Director/Head Custodian.

  • Maintains a safe, secure and energy-efficient building by locking/unlocking inside and outside doors, setting/resetting alarms, and turning on/off lights.

  • Sets up facilities for student assemblies, and extracurricular and community group activities.

  • Performs minor maintenance of equipment.

  • Notifies Facilities Director/Head Custodian if the inventory of supplies and/or equipment is in need reordering.

  • Expected to work overtime as required by the Building Principal/Facilities Director such as responding to alarm calls, for snow removal, and for extracurricular activities.

  • Performs any other duties as designated by the Building Principal/Facilities Director.

Salary: In accordance with the Contract between the Quaboag Regional School Committee and Teamsters Local 170
