About the Role
The Permanent part-time, 12 hours per week (preferably Tuesdays and Wednesdays) role of Staff Specialist Rehabilitation works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the Greenwich Far West chronic pain telehealth service functions in a way that aligns with the Mission, Vision and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare, to ensure that the medical and other care provided to patients in the Far West of NSW is of high quality.
Provide high quality chronic pain consultative telehealth service to the Far West of New South Wales, based in Northern Sydney.
To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission In Action of HammondCare
This part-time role is for a Rehabilitation specialist with skills and knowledge in chronic pain to work with a small chronic pain team; a nurse, physio and psychologist, to deliver chronic pain services to Far West NSW. Individual consultations are delivered via telehealth within existing GP practices and remote health services to rural and remote towns of the Far West.
Two visits per annum to Broken Hill are required by the team, and participating in one visit per year is expected.
HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised.
About You
Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Rehabilitation Medicine in Australia (AHPRA).
FAFRM or equivalent Consultant qualification in Rehabilitation Medicine.
Credentialed experience in multidisciplinary specialist practice in inpatient, day hospital, consultative, clinic and community settings.
Qualification in Pain Management is desirable
Demonstrated skills in delivering chronic pain services in either inpatient or outpatient settings.
Demonstrated sound and effective communication skills, including written documentation to GP's, allied health and other consultants within and external to HammondCare. Communication with patients and referrers is a key requirement for this liaison consultative service
Demonstrated ability to work in a team
Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
