Position Summary

We are seeking an Estimator to perform detailed quantitative takeoffs and prepare accurate proposals for commercial construction projects. This position is ideal for someone who is analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working with numbers. Prior estimating experience is a plus, but we are open to training a sharp, tech‑savvy candidate with the right mindset.

What You'll Do, Estimating & Bidding

  • Perform digital takeoffs using on‑screen estimating platforms.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed proposals for GC clients.
  • Submit bids through MS Outlook, online portals, and BuildingConnected.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to fully understand project scope.
  • Maintain accurate logs and organized project files.

Documentation & Quality

  • Ensure all estimating documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Follow established processes, including correct change order rate usage.
  • Assist in investigating quality or process issues when required.
  • Help keep internal systems and documentation aligned with current practices.

Process Improvement

  • Identify workflow efficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Support teammates during slower periods or high‑volume cycles.
  • Contribute to streamlining procedures for consistency and accuracy.

Safety & Professional Conduct

  • Maintain safe work habits and report hazards promptly.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, vendors, or team members.

What We're Looking For Required Skills

  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, formulas, formatting).
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word.
  • Solid math skills and confidence working with numbers.
  • Ability to navigate online portals, web tools, and cloud systems.
  • Able to read construction/architectural drawings

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with PlanSwift
  • Experience with Bluebeam
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Prior estimating or construction experience
