Job Purpose

Manages the processes and team to ensure that the products delivered to the customer meet the agreed quality standards. Develops team for success, growth, and efficiency. Sets objectives for team members, reviews development and provides clear, open and constructive feedback on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the processes related to the raw materials and final batch testing of all relevant products by using standard procedures to meet specifications.

  • Coordinates all QC resources to ensure internal and external customer needs are met.

  • Ensures processes and standards are in place and followed by QC employees to ensure the number of batch adjustments are kept to a minimum.

  • Promotes the quality system within the team, adhering to the elements and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual and processes.

  • Selects, develops and motivates by training, setting goals, monitoring, and appraising performance to establish and maintain a competent workforce.

  • Liasons with S-Lab to ensure new product introduction procedures are followed.

  • Promotes, develops and implements quality procedures and systems to improve and maintain quality within manufacturing.

  • Maintains quality equipment by monitoring performance, calibration and conducting preventive maintenance.

  • Supports customer and internal audits and ensures team works to the ISO standards.

  • Oversees SQA function.

  • Is familiar and complies with all applicable corporate, site, laboratory policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct HSE and Safety & Regulatory Affairs standards.

  • Proactively manages costs.

  • Investigate/resolve customer complaints.

  • Create/update inspection plans, formula update requests, organize huddles, prepare QC histories.

  • Work on production batches when necessary.

Level of autonomy (decision making and independent judgement)

Responsible for deciding when and how much overtime is needed.

Determine batch testing priority.

Make expectations clear to team and provide accountability as needed.

Responsible for hiring/pay and termination in conjunction with HR & QC management.

Make decisions related to batch/raw material approval and placing holds when necessary.

Autonomy of the staff and decisions related to the job.

Job Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred. High School degree minimum requirement.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a laboratory setting
  • 3 years laboratory/manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Excel.
  • SAP experience preferred.
Rewards & Benefits

Salary range for this role is: $80,000 to $95,000 + Straight OT after 44 hours weekly.

This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
