- Act as the frontline investigator for production and field quality issues: collect data, replicate failures, perform hands on testing and inspection, and lead containment and corrective action.
- Own root cause analysis activities (5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree, 8D as required) and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure with verification of effectiveness.
- Work side by side with production associates to identify nonconformance, implement containment and train operators to prevent recurrence.
- Establish, perform, and improve incoming inspection procedures; receive and disposition nonconforming incoming materials
- Maintain and control calibration records for inspection/test equipment and ensure measurement traceability.
- Collect and analyze quality data (defect rates, scrap/rework, yield, process capability); generate actionable reports and present trends to stakeholders.
- Lead or participate in productivity and quality improvement projects (DOE, Kaizen, Lean, SPC), and support engineering design improvements to enhance manufacturability and robustness.
Support internal and external audits as required.
The talent we want to inspire has…
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related) or equivalent experience with minimum 3 years of hands on manufacturing Quality experience (in line production support, troubleshooting, or test engineering).
- Demonstrated experience performing root cause analysis and driving CAPA to completion.
- Proficient in data analysis and statistical methods (SPC, capability studies, Gage R&R). Experience with DOE/Minitab an advantage.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems (required); experience with AS9100 or IATF 16949 is a plus.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and process documents.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with quality management systems / ERP/QMS software desirable.
- Comfortable working on the production floor, hands on troubleshooting of electrical/mechanical assemblies, and traveling to customer sites when needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to write clear nonconformance reports and present findings to cross functional teams.
This would be a plus but not a must
- Practical, investigative mindset with persistence to follow problems to root cause.
- Strong interpersonal skills; coachable and able to give clear explanations to production staff.
Experience in aviation, defense, or automotive a plus.
