Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily store activities, including sales, inventory management, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members through effective training and ongoing coaching in areas such as employee orientation, merchandising, and sales techniques.
  • Manage shift schedules to optimize staffing levels and ensure coverage during peak hours.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and cashiering duties with accuracy and integrity.
  • Conduct interviewing and recruiting efforts to attract qualified candidates; participate in the hiring process to build a strong team.
  • Handle purchasing, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maximize profitability while maintaining stock levels.
  • Monitor store budgets, perform bookkeeping tasks, and manage payroll processing in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment.
  • Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost sales and enhance store visibility in the community.
  • Address customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette; resolve issues promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize management skills to oversee retail math calculations for sales tracking, profit margins, and inventory valuation.
  • Support assistant managers in daily tasks and take on leadership responsibilities during absences or busy periods.

Skills

  • Proven management experience with a focus on retail sales or grocery store environments.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills; capable of supervising diverse teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development, and marketing strategies.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer bases.
  • Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, inventory management, POS systems, purchasing, pricing strategies, and cash handling.
  • Skilled in retail math calculations related to sales management, budgeting, inventory control, and merchandising.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently across shift management tasks such as stocking, stocking rotation, customer service excellence, and store maintenance.
  • Knowledge of wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong time management skills paired with organizational expertise to prioritize daily responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to train staff on customer service standards like phone etiquette; promote a positive shopping experience through excellent communication skills.
