We are looking for a Full-Time Accountant to play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, streamlining operations, and supporting leadership with real-time insights to drive profitability and growth.Our ambitious growth targets and multi-state operations require a strong, professional accounting team to ensure financial accuracy, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making.

Why This Role Matters

As a full-time accountant at Feller & Wendt, you will provide leadership with real-time financial visibility through daily reconciliations, cash flow dashboards, expense tracking, and fast month-end closeouts. You will strengthen internal controls to prevent errors, misallocated expenses, or financial mismanagement, while saving leadership time by centralizing financial responsibilities and allowing executives to focus on high-impact decision-making. In addition, you will generate cost savings through vendor oversight, auditing, and efficiency improvements, support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning to ensure profitable and disciplined growth, and act as the data engine for EOS, scorecards, departmental KPIs, and financial reporting. You will ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, multi-state reporting, and CPA collaboration, provide capital project support for major firm expansions, monitor profitability by office, department, and practice area, and build partner confidence with professional, predictable financial packages and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly accounting records for multi-state operations.

  • Perform reconciliations of bank statements, credit cards, and trust accounts.

  • Track and report cash flow, departmental expenses, and profit margins in real time.

  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy, prevent duplicate payments, and ensure GAAP-compliant processing.

  • Financial reporting including variance reports for leadership.

  • Generate financial reports to support EOS Scorecards, L10 meetings, and departmental KPIs.

  • Support tax preparation, including sales/use tax, 1099s, depreciation, and multi-state compliance.

  • Assist in financial oversight of major capital projects, including construction cost tracking and loan amortization.

  • Provide actionable insights for department profitability, marketing ROI, and strategic planning.

  • Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, internal controls, and financial reporting.

  • Direct Liaison with our PEO company regarding payroll, benefits etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.

  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience; law firm or multi-state operations experience a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices.

  • Expertise with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).

  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong communication skills to present financial data clearly to leadership and partners.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus incentive opportunities available quarterly
