Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) Collector to join our dynamic company. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in insurance collections, with a strong preference for those with ABA therapy billing. Knowledge and experience working with Arizona Medicaid and commercial payers. is required This role is critical in ensuring timely collection and resolution of outstanding account balances to support the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and resolve accounts receivable for assigned payer portfolios including commercial insurance, Medicaid, and other third-party payers.

· Proactively follow up on outstanding claims via phone calls, payer portals, and written correspondence.

· Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims; initiate appeals or reprocessing as appropriate.

· Work with Billing Manager and clinical teams to ensure authorizations are obtained accurately and within a timely matter.

· Ensure compliance with payer policies and guidelines, especially Arizona Medicaid.

· Document all collection activity in the billing system with thorough and accurate notes.

· Monitor aging reports and meet collection benchmarks and productivity goals.

· Collaborate with the AR Manager to identify trends in denials or payer issues and recommend solutions.

· Communicate with payers to resolve discrepancies or issues delaying payment.

· Assist with special projects, audits, and reports as needed.

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance collections or accounts receivable within a healthcare environment.

· Strong knowledge of Arizona Medicaid (AHCCCS) policies and procedures.

· Experience with ABA therapy billing and CPT codes strongly preferred.

· Familiarity with payer portals and clearinghouses (e.g., Availity, Optum, AHCCCS Provider Portal).

· Proficient in Technology and working multi screens, using billing software and Microsoft Excel.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet deadlines.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills

· Experience with billing platforms such as Rethink, Kareo/Tebra, or similar EHR/PM systems.

· Understanding of the ABA revenue cycle and prior authorization processes.

· Knowledge of coordination of benefits and secondary billing.
