TITLE: Account Executive
DEPARTMENT: Middle Market– Commercial Lines
FLSA: Exempt
Position Summary:
A results-driven individual who actively engages with customers and understands their needs to ensure an optimal level of customer service. You will deliver comprehensive and tailored solutions to each customer, enhancing satisfaction, retention, and acquisition, while also increasing revenue through cross-selling opportunities.
Schedule: Hybrid role — remote on Mondays & Fridays, in-office Tuesday through Thursday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Capacity to manage a large, complex book of business. ($2M in revenue)
- Preserve a high account retention rate by managing client expectations and overall client relationships.
- Respond expeditiously to clients' inquiries and provide necessary service(s) to meet or exceed the clients' needs and expectations.
- Meet with clients as needed or directed.
- Technical expert in all insurance products/policies.
- Capacity and aptitude in retaining and recalling each client's insurance program.
- Obtain, identify, and analyze client exposures on new and renewal policies to provide recommendations for gaps/deficiencies and/or new coverages, to develop a program design and appropriate marketing strategies.
- Review policy forms, endorsements, and exclusions of new and renewed policies to ensure that the most comprehensive and cost-efficient program has been secured for the client.
- Prepare market submissions, identify appropriate markets, champion market negotiations, and provide clients with timely renewal presentations.
- Responsible for coverage binding and coordination with the service team to issue binders, certificates, invoices, etc., promptly.
- Review contracts to identify whether the client's insurance program is compliant or has coverage deficiencies.
- Provide direction and delegate tasks to the service team to optimize service team resources.
- Establish and manage each client's stewardship calendar.
- Coordinate with internal and/or external resources to provide the client with workers' compensation worksheet and EMR analytics.
- Coordinate with internal claims resources to provide the client with robust claims services and mitigation of open claims.
- Serve as a technical expert and assist service team members in resolving complex issues.
- Identify account rounding opportunities and seek referrals from clients.
- Review accounting history, respond to accounting inquiries, correct discrepancies, and contact the client regarding the collection of premiums, fees, reconciliation, and resolution of any outstanding balances within 90 days of the invoice date.
- Ensure all relevant data is properly filed and tracked in our management systems.
- Implement and manage Quality Assurance Standards & Account Retention Guidelines with the service team.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to departmental staff in concert with leadership.
- Comply with agency management system, data standards, and data integrity.
- Supplement Managers' oversight in compliance with corporate procedural guidelines.
- E&O procedures must be strictly followed through documentation on each account.
- Keep proper filing of all documentation & correspondence according to company SOP -Standard Operating Procedures.
- Create motivational action plans for personnel development in conjunction with defined performance goals created by the Manager.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Insurance designation (CPCU) is a plus, but not required
- 10+ years related work experience
- Thorough knowledge of commercial lines, products, coverages, and insurance markets.
- Construction and OCIP experience preferred but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products
- Experience with EPIC. CSR 24 and Indio
- Aptitude to adapt and learn technology
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Property & Casualty license.
- Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
- Good planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
