WalterLane is pleased to lead the search for a Manager, Transatlantic Relations for the DC office of one of Europe's largest foundations. The foundation's work focuses on the transatlantic partnership and seeks to educate and engage their audience on the most pressing economic, political, and social challenges facing the United States and Europe.

Reporting to the Director of Transatlantic Relations, this role supports the team's research and program needs in appropriate topic areas. You will oversee the fellowship program, which connects American decisionmakers in the public and private sectors with their European counterparts to discuss policy areas of mutual interest, and provides a deeper awareness of the legislative process and political and institutional challenges across the Atlantic. You will also develop a research portfolio that includes key relationships and issues defining the transatlantic relationship, and collaborate with other team members to develop programming that supports the foundation's standing as a prominent voice in transatlantic relations.

MUST HAVE A MASTER'S DEGREE AND 3+ YEARS OF POST-GRADUATE RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE. HILL EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS. Hybrid, salary 70K plus bonus, excellent benefits package

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the fellowship program and all related activities
  • Research and track current issues with a transatlantic dimension
  • Write articles, analyses, and policy papers (short form) across a broad range of transatlantic policy areas and international or global issues
  • Design and implement Congressional outreach and engagement plan
  • Transform research into a variety of multimedia content
  • Attend and actively participate in events pertinent to the work of the research portfolio
  • Develop, organize, and manage a diplomatic roundtable series that facilitates dialogue on key transatlantic policy issues
  • Build and maintain a strong network of domestic and international government officials, diplomatic leaders, think tanks, the private sector, and NGOs
  • Manage events including preparation of policy content and organizational issues
  • Provide program support to transatlantic projects as needed including various panel discussions, conferences, and workshops

ABOUT YOU

  • Master's degree in public policy, international relations, international business, international economics, international politics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years, post-graduate related work experience beyond internships
  • Sound knowledge of international relations and transatlantic issues with the ability and interest in learning new issues
  • Outstanding research and writing ability
  • Demonstrated interest in addressing the challenges facing the transatlantic alliance
  • Professional experience working with public- and private-sector in the U.S. and Europe
  • Openness, creativity, and conceptual skills
  • You are a go-getter who embraces independence, collaboration, curiosity, and versatility
  • Fluency in at least one EU language preferred
