Off-Road Mechanical Technician – Custom Builds & Vehicle PrepBuild, Prep, and Dial In Off-Road Machines
S3 Power Sports is seeking a skilled Off-Road Mechanical Technician to join our in-house build team in Shreveport, LA. Our shop stays busy with race vehicles, mud builds, rock rigs, and custom off-road projects, and we need someone who can install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and fine-tune machines that are built to be pushed hard. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how off-road systems work together and enjoys solving mechanical challenges.
About S3 Power Sports
Founded in 2011, S3 Power Sports is a family-owned off-road manufacturer and racing company built by riders and racers. We design, test, and manufacture high-performance parts that are trusted by weekend warriors and professional racers alike. Everything we build is tested under real-world conditions, and our shop reflects that same mindset — practical, fast-paced, and focused on quality.
Position Overview
As an Off-Road Mechanical Technician, you'll work directly on custom builds, performance upgrades, and vehicle prep. This role is focused on mechanical systems, installs, diagnostics, and electrical work rather than fabrication. You'll collaborate closely with fabricators, builders, and engineers to bring complete off-road machines together.
What You'll Do
- Install suspension, driveline, steering, and performance components
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot vehicle systems
- Perform 12-volt wiring, lighting, and accessory installations
- Prep vehicles for race, trail, or customer delivery
- Assist with custom builds and specialized vehicle projects
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
- Work as part of a skilled team in a fast-paced shop environment
What We're Looking For
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working on off-road vehicles (UTV, SXS, ATV, 4x4)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability
- Comfortable with 12V electrical systems and accessory installs
- Familiarity with aftermarket performance parts and custom builds
- Ability to read service manuals, diagrams, and schematics
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
- ASE, Can-Am, Polaris, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ford, Dodge, or similar
Bonus Skills
- Light fabrication or welding experience
- Experience with diagnostic tools or software
Who You Are
- Hands-on and mechanically minded
- Detail-oriented and takes pride in clean work
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a busy shop
- Willing to learn, improve, and grow with the company
- Passionate about off-road vehicles and performance
Why S3 Power Sports
At S3, you're not just wrenching on stock vehicles — you're helping build machines designed to be pushed hard. You'll work with a tight-knit crew, high-quality parts, and projects that range from race prep to wild custom builds. We value skill, accountability, and people who care about what they build.
Apply today and help build some of the toughest off-road machines on the trail.
