JOB OVERVIEW

Jay's Steakhouse is seeking an elegant, polished, and highly disciplined Floor Manager to uphold and elevate our standard of refined service. This role demands a leader with impeccable attention to detail, a deep love for hospitality, and the ability to orchestrate a flawless dining room experience every night.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will ensure that service is executed with precision, warmth, and emotional intelligence—from the first greeting to the final farewell. You will coach and develop staff to embody the Jay's ethos: sophisticated, guest-obsessed, and relentlessly consistent. RESPONSIBILITIESService Excellence & Guest Experience

• Lead the dining room with grace, confidence, and a calm command presence, ensuring seamless, high-touch service at all times.
• Anticipate guest needs using refined tableside awareness; resolve concerns with discretion and hospitality de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain table pacing, flow, and ambience, ensuring lighting, music, temperature, and tone align with our fine-dining standards.
• Serve as the face of the room, actively engaging with guests, building rapport, and cultivating memorable experiences that drive loyalty.

Team Leadership & Development

• Train, coach, and mentor servers, bartenders, and support staff in elevated service mechanics, etiquette, and product knowledge.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, wine/cocktail education, and ongoing development programs to maintain a highly skilled team.
• Hold staff accountable to fine-dining standards, grooming, and performance expectations.

Operational Excellence

• Oversee all nightly floor operations: seating strategy, section assignments, timing, and flow of courses.
• Ensure flawless coordination between FOH and BOH for precision execution of food quality, plating, and timing.
• Manage POS functions (Aloha/Micros), guest checks, comps/voids, and end-of-night reporting with accuracy.
• Monitor inventory and support ordering for FOH needs (china, glassware, silver, linens, wine tools, candles, etc.).

Standards, Safety, and Compliance

• Enforce all health, sanitation, and safety standards with meticulous rigor.
• Uphold brand protocols, service SOPs, and appearance standards across the entire FOH team.
• Conduct regular floor walks and audits of dining room readiness.

Events & Private Dining

• Assist in executing private dining experiences, VIP service, chef's tastings, and high-end buyouts.
• Partner with the Events Manager to ensure world-class hospitality, curated service teams, and seamless coordination.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2–3 years of fine dining or luxury hotel restaurant management experience (steakhouses preferred).
• Proven leadership success in high-volume, high-touch dining environments.
• Strong foundational knowledge of classic service mechanics, including wine service, decanting, steps of service, and table etiquette.
• Experience coaching teams and enforcing elevated service standards.
• Deep understanding of food & beverage, including steakhouse cuisine, craft cocktails, and wine.
• Mastery of guest relations, conflict resolution, and high-stakes hospitality situations.
• Strong operational skills: POS systems (Aloha/Micros), cash handling, nightly reporting, and inventory practices.
• Ability to maintain composure and command during peak service periods while delivering consistent excellence.
