Join our development team as a support engineer for the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). In this role, you will assist with platform operations, automation development, and tenant support under the guidance of the lead engineer. This position offers an opportunity to grow technical skills while contributing to infrastructure-wide automation initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist tenants with platform navigation and automation questions during scheduled office hours
- Support the development and maintenance of Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules under supervision
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to implement automation strategies
- Help maintain platform documentation and contribute to onboarding materials
- Participate in platform governance activities including RBAC and CI/CD integration
- Support troubleshooting efforts and contribute to service restoration strategies
- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption
- Follow best practices for compliance, security, and scalability in automation tasks
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Information Technology role or 2+ year is a software development role
- 2+ years of experience with automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Shell scripts) and Git version control
- 1+ years of experience working with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
- Good understanding of REST APIs and scripting
- Familiarity with Linux environments (RHEL 8/9) and container runtime basics
- Willingness to learn and support tenants with technical guidance
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field, or an additional 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience working in large-scale environments
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Exposure to VMware products and enterprise automation platforms
- Understanding of security standards and Role Based Access Control (RBAC)
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
