We are currently hiring an experienced Specialty Practice Manager in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time position that does not require working late nights, weekends, or holidays.

More than 100 employees support our agency's mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, a majority of who are low-income. No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include family medicine, internal medicine, women's health, urgent care, dental, radiology and integrated behavioral health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment.

Summary
The Specialty Practice Manager is responsible for managing the operations of specialty clinics and services within the health center. This role ensures smooth day-to-day workflows, compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, and effective coordination between providers, staff, and patients. The manager plays a key role in supporting clinical efficiency, patient satisfaction, and access to specialty care.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily operations of specialty care services, including scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.

  2. Supervise and develop administrative and clinical support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

  3. Ensure compliance with FQHC, HRSA, OSHA, and state/federal regulatory requirements.

  4. Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient access, quality outcomes, and satisfaction.

  5. Collaborate with specialty providers, primary care teams, and leadership to ensure coordinated, integrated care.

  6. Manage budgets, purchasing, and inventory for specialty practices.

  7. Implement quality improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and enhance patient care.

  8. Serve as a liaison between specialty departments, executive leadership, and external partners.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).

  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting (specialty care or FQHC experience strongly preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, compliance, and regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
