About the Role
The Regional Manager has direct responsibility and accountability for all aspects, including business development, operations, staffing, client management, and profit and loss associated with developing, maintaining, and expanding ERRG business operations within the assigned region based on an established regional budget and performance goals.
What You'll Do
- Work with principals in developing areas of expertise within ERRG.
- Capable of expanding client relationships beyond existing contracts.
- Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed.
- Review and approve contracts and cost estimates.
- Capable of preparing large-scale programmatic proposals.
- Forecast project work on existing contracts.
- Expand client relationships beyond existing contract.
- Identify potential opportunities within existing contracts.
- Report to principal on project status.
- Schedule and assign duties to staff scientists and engineers based on evaluation of their knowledge of specific disciplines.
- Prepare environmental project feasibility and progress reports.
- Review technical aspects of project to assist staff and assess productivity of lines of research.
- Review project operations to ensure coordination of efforts and timely submission of reports.
- Analyze reports to evaluate program effectiveness and prepare impact analysis to assess total lifecycle costs associated with implementing new pollution control techniques or other innovative solutions.
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Visit project sites on a periodic basis.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
- Minimum of 15 years of industry-related experience.
- Formulate strategic business decisions and be able to execute and deliver on those decisions.
- Client Relationship Management with demonstrated success leading and expanding business operations including business development.
- Ability to effectively interact with principals, clients, regulatory agencies, field operations, technical staff and subcontractors.
- Ability to provide technical direction on projects and conduct technical reviews of written documents.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with previous involvement in preparing project proposals and the experience providing compelling, multi-level presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff in a team environment.
- Solid understanding of project cost and schedule controls.
- Knowledge of MS Word Office Suite Products.
- Must have 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher.
- May be required to travel up to 25% to 50% of the time to project sites or client locations.
Nice to Have
- Professional industry related work experience in Northern California
- Master's Degree
- Proven experience managing PNL and revenue growth for a program or regional office
- Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist license
California Salary Range
$130,000 - $180,000 USD
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
