Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Tow Driver dedicated to transporting patients safely and efficiently to their medical appointments. Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, flatbed trucks, and other commercial vehicles to transport patients to and from medical appointments
- Assist patients in entering and exiting vehicles with care, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
- Load, unload, and secure mobility devices or medical equipment as needed for transport
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, including checking automotive diagnostics, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and mechanical components to ensure optimal operation
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary, leveraging mechanical knowledge and mechanic experience
- Manage conflict management situations professionally, addressing patient concerns with empathy and patience
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Follow all safety protocols related to tow truck operation, including proper use of manual transmissions and adherence to traffic laws
- Assist with loading or unloading cargo or medical supplies when required
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and patients to coordinate schedules and address any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience operating tow trucks or commercial driving vehicles such as flatbeds or tow trucks
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and vehicle safety systems
- Prior experience in automotive repair or mechanic work is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict professionally
- Experience handling load & unload operations safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of forklift operation is a plus but not required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving certification preferred but not mandatory for all applicants
