Clearance Required: Active DoD Top Secret w/SCI eligibility in order to be eligible for the position

Location:
Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week in the DMV area (no static onsite location, this person will be going to various locations throughout the DMV region)

Duration:
Direct hire with the client - contract set through April 2026, the work will still be available and going through recompete after

Salary range:
$155,000-$165,000

Job Description:

This Engineer will be in a customer facing role where they will provide strategic and advisory support to customers across the DMV area. This will not be a hands-on engineering position. This person will be responsible for delivering technical cloud solutions in line with the business requirements on a large and complex data system for the agency.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BS Degree and 8 years of relevant experience within cloud technologies
  • IAT II Certified
  • Strong understanding on prem, cloud native or hybrid computing systems (experience with AWS, Azure, OCI, GPC)
  • Familiarity with systems management concepts, performance management storage and network management
  • Experience in building applications
  • Experience in database systems
  • Experience in working with Docker or Kubernetes for cluster management, and container storage.
  • Experience with Python, Bash, Shell, or other scripting languages

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction on which cloud infrastructure to use in support of applications in the cloud with an emphasis on scalability, automation, performance and availability.
  • Evaluates provided documentation and makes recommendations to the government based on findings
  • Evaluates change/release notifications and notifies customer of changes
  • Advises on adoption based on specific DoD use cases.
  • Interacts with customers on a daily basis to discuss cloud adoption pipeline.
  • Facilitates and attends multi-cloud technical exchange meetings.
  • Works with Cyber PMO to ensure engineered solutions meet cyber compliance
  • Works with DISA directorates to facilitate the following:
  • Circuit connections at multiple classifications, Cloud Access Point (CAP) onboarding, and Technical discussions for authorization (DoD PA)
  • Assists in the systems test of tactical edge devices.
  • Provides expertise on cloud implementations and research emerging trends and technologies related to cloud engineering. Implements prescribed solutions for various deployment models (Private, Public, Community and Hybrid) and delivery models including Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a service, and Software as a Service.
