Design Director / Brand Strategy Designer [Senior-Level, Full-Time, For Hire Immediately]

JXL Creative is a New York based independent design agency specializing in branding strategy, packaging, digital design, and content for category-defining brands. We work with clients ranging from fast-growing CPG, food and beverage brands to mission-driven beauty innovators. Everything we do is meant to elevate and engage.

We're looking for a
highly organized, detail-driven and strategic designer

who thrives in a collaborative, agency-style environment and can translate briefs into clean, modern, and production-ready design work. You'll be in a director position supporting our internal creative team on projects spanning packaging explorations, brand identity strategy, digital content & strategy, sales and marketing collateral, campaigns, and brand collateral.

What You'll Do

• Work alongside the creative director to develop design strategies and execute concepts for packaging and branding explorations.

• Delegate to a team of intermediate and junior designers who will support you in rolling out concepts and providing day-to-day brand support for our accounts.

• Execute design deliverables across packaging, social, digital, and marketing channels while following specific branding guidelines and partnering brand assets.

• Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure consistency, clarity, and speed of delivery.

• Prepare production-ready files and final mechanicals with exceptional attention to detail regarding print processes and finishes.

• Work through multiple projects, priorities and deadlines while maintaining quality and alignment with creative direction.

What We're Looking For

• A Design Director who applies creative strategy to everything they create.

• A Designer who looks at each brand and project holistically.

• Experience with Brand Identity & Exploration.

• Packaging / Print Design Fluency, both in creative and final mechanicals.

• Presentation Design & Construction from start to finish (Oral Presentation Skills are a plus).

• Marketing, Sales & Investor Deck Design.

• Digital Design Experience.

• years of professional design experience (agency or brand side preferred).

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Motion Graphics, After Effects and Figma is a plus but not required.

• A strong eye for typography, layout, symmetry and composition with proven experience designing for both print and digital.

• Excellent communication and file-organization habits. This includes following archiving and file naming conventions. Basic working knowledge of Google Sheets & Slides.

• Emotionally intelligent, responsive, and collaborative: you bring calm energy and accountability to fast-moving projects.
