Design Director
to lead transformative, breakthrough ideas for our global clients.

Position Summary

The Design Director at GUT plays a pivotal role at the intersection of strategy, design, user experience, and technology. Unlike a traditional creative role focused on campaigns, this position drives digital transformation through human-centered design, scalable design systems, and technology-enabled solutions.

You will partner with clients to envision and deliver future-ready products, services, and digital experiences that align with business goals and user needs. This includes shaping digital strategies, concepting solutions for complex ecosystems, and ensuring execution at the highest level of craft and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design vision for large-scale digital engagements, ensuring solutions are strategic, user-centered, and technologically feasible.
• Partner closely with business strategists, technologists, product owners, and marketers to define digital transformation roadmaps.
• Drive the creation and governance of design systems that scale across global platforms and brands.
• Lead concepting, prototyping, and validation of transformative digital solutions, products, and services.
• Manage and influence senior stakeholders, presenting digital strategies and design solutions with authority and clarity.
• Inspire, mentor, and guide multidisciplinary teams of UX/UI designers, service designers, researchers, and technologists.
• Ensure design outcomes balance business impact, user value, and technical implementation.
• Collaborate with Globant Studios (AI, Data, Experience, and Technology) to fuse creativity with cutting-edge capabilities.
• Support business development efforts by shaping proposals, leading digital transformation pitches, and contributing thought leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in digital design leadership (agency, consultancy, or in-house), with a focus on UX, product/service design, and digital transformation.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in large-scale design systems, complex digital ecosystems, and transformative digital products/experiences.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and align diverse business, design, and technology teams.
• Experience leading teams through end-to-end design processes — research, strategy, concepting, prototyping, execution, and optimization.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior executives.
• Deep knowledge of UX, UI, digital strategy, and service design principles.
• Track record of delivering design solutions that drive measurable business and customer outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing for global enterprises in industries such as Technology, Healthcare, Real Estate, or Financial Services.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies (AI, generative design, immersive platforms) and their impact on digital experiences.
• Experience with scaled agile delivery environments and product management frameworks.
• Recognition in design or innovation awards (IxDA, Fast Company Innovation by Design, Red Dot, etc.) a plus.
• Multicultural or global experience strongly valued.
