Staff Accountant

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the month-end close process including responsibilities for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and fluctuation analysis of various income statement and/or balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist the controller in the calculation for the allowance for loan loss.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Develop analytical tools and expertise to drill into the company's financial records and evaluate its performance.
  • Monitor the Bank's daily cash position and intraday balances and work with the Controller to maintain appropriate balances in respective accounts.
  • Prepare and analyze various daily, monthly and quarterly external and internal management reports.
  • Prepare and complete ad hoc reporting to assist management and react to issues that may arise.
  • Perform data analysis assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Participate in projects aimed at streamlining current Accounting processes.
  • Be able to work under time-sensitive deadlines in a fast paced environment with multiple and competing priorities.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Accounting / Finance or Business Management
  • Two to four years within a financial service or within a public accounting firm
  • Advanced experience in Excel and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software
  • Experience with Jack Henry systems and or Cognos reporting a plus.
  • Ability to prepare reports objectively, concisely and clearly and describe the work performed to enhance the report's usefulness
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Organized and analytical with the ability to solve difficult problems
  • Motivated and curious to learn and advance
