Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecommunications and network installation, with hands-on experience in fiber splicing and cabling. As a Fiber Technician, you will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fiber splicing and termination for various network installations.
  • Install and maintain Cisco routers and other networking equipment.
  • Conduct field service operations, ensuring all installations meet industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot network issues related to Ethernet, telephony, and low voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while working in various environments.

Skills

  • Proficient in fiber splicing techniques and network installation processes.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking principles and telecommunication systems.
  • Experience with Cisco routers and related networking hardware.
  • Familiarity with cabling standards and practices, including mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to use an ohmmeter for testing electrical connections.
  • Previous experience as a service technician in the telecommunications field is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
