Accountant

Job Overview

Detailed and experienced accountant with a strong accounting acumen and deep knowledge of GAAP. Primarily focused on accounts receivable operations while supporting accounts payable, reconciliations and other general accounting functions. Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

· Processing and analysis of Accounts Receivable.

· Manage – prepare/issue 1,700 monthly invoices for recurring technical services billings.

· Manage – create/issue – over 1,700 annual invoices for licensing renewals.

· Reconcile AR subledger with General Ledger AR.

· Post daily customer payments – credit card, ACH, and checks.

· Send statements as requested.

· Process customer cancellations – cancelling the monthly invoice and annual gateway license if applicable.

· Develop and implement a receivable accounts collection process to improve cash flow and reduce delinquent accounts.

· Create and maintain sales orders (SOF's) in collaboration with sales team.

· Apply deposit payments to sales orders/invoices.

· Verifying Inventory items and costs are accurate.

· Track RMA's and process customer refunds upon receipt of equipment.

· Prepare and process credit memos.

· Process "Start Bills" as installation jobs are completed and Project Management staff indicate to start the recurring invoice and annual licensing invoice process.

· Prepare financing invoices following HP's guidelines.

· Filing Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota sales and use tax returns.

· Ability to investigate and resolve account discrepancies

Accounts Payable:

· Enter vendor invoices as received.

· Process vendor payments weekly.

· Post credit card expenses and reconcile statements monthly.

· Post the business credit card transactions from Paylocity to QBO weekly.

· Prepare and process annual 1099's – Misc, NEC forms.

General Accounting:

· Assisting with Inventory Management – researching negative inventory

· Ensuring inventory pulled via sales orders/invoices is flowing correctly in QuickBooks Online

· Experience with filing sales and use tax returns.

· Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

· Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

· Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.

· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

· Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts.

· Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations of accounts and bank statements.

· Collaborate with cross-function teams (operations, IT, sales, etc.) to ensure accurate financial reporting.

· Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting.

· Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports.

· Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.

• Skills/Qualifications:

· Thorough understanding of month end and year end entries to accurately reflect GAAP accounting.

· Proficient with QuickBooks Online.

· Proficient with Paylocity – expense module/corporate card.

· Advanced Excel and analytical skills - using pivot tables, sumifs, lookups, etc.

· Strong problem-solving skills.

· Exceptional attention to detail.
