Product Marketing Manager, Core

Hollywood, California, United States Grindr Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco (preferred) or offices and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

About the Role:

As a Product Marketing Manager at Grindr, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying the core user experience that powers our community — from browsing and chatting to making meaningful connections. You will lead go-to-market strategies, influence product direction, and ensure that the voice of our users is embedded in everything we build.

This highly cross-functional role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Data, and Marketing. Your mission: craft strategies that drive awareness, adoption, and engagement across Grindr's most essential product experiences, helping millions of people connect in more authentic and valuable ways.

What's the job?

  • Synthesize Insights: Turn customer, market, and competitive insights into actionable recommendations that shape Grindr's core product experience.

  • Strategic Influence: Partner with Product and Design to guide roadmap priorities and feature development, ensuring that enhancements to the core experience meet user needs and business goals.

  • GTM Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for product launches, including winning naming, messaging, positioning, and campaign narratives. Set goals and metrics for success, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure flawless execution.

  • Lifecycle Impact: Drive strategies across the full user journey — from awareness and onboarding to engagement, reactivation, and retention.

  • Problem-Solving: Tackle complex challenges with a strategic mindset, creating thoughtful recommendations and action plans.

  • Measure Success: Define KPIs, track adoption and engagement metrics, evaluate campaign performance, and continuously iterate to maximize product and marketing impact.

What we'll love about you

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience delivering successful go-to-market, engagement, and growth strategies, with 5+ years specifically in product marketing, ideally within the tech or dating app industry.

  • Action-Oriented: Proactive, collaborative, and a master of simplification. You continually push towards clarity and driving delivery of strong results.

  • Self-Starter: Hard-working, detail-oriented, and organized. You thrive in challenging environments and are undeterred by complexity.

  • Master Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting and sharing work with executive leadership. Strong interpersonal skills to influence and motivate people at all levels across various functions.

  • Product Marketing Mindset: Ability to distill the essence of complex products and convey the value they create. You can develop a strong messaging hierarchy, effective strategies, and impactful go-to-market plans.

  • Lifecycle Expertise: Deep understanding of the customer lifecycle — from acquisition and onboarding through engagement, retention, and reactivation — with the ability to design marketing strategies that maximize user value at every stage.

  • Analytical Skills: Outstanding ability to use data to craft insightful stories, inform strategies, and guide decision-making.

We'll really swoon if you

  • Excel at cross-functional partnership, bringing clear insights and persuasive storytelling to Product, Engineering, and Design conversations to shape the roadmap and elevate the core experience.

  • Leverage modern tools with ease, using platforms like Braze for lifecycle messaging and Figma for creative collaboration to execute campaigns that resonate.

  • Bring relevant industry perspective, with prior experience in the dating, social, or consumer app space — understanding what drives user connection and engagement.

  • Have a data-informed mindset, comfortable turning metrics and experimentation into actionable strategies that improve the user journey.

  • Thrive in fast-paced environments, embracing ambiguity, simplifying complexity, and driving clarity across teams.

  • Champion the user voice, translating customer needs into product and marketing strategies that balance empathy with business impact.

What you'll love about us

  • Mission and Impact: Grindr is building the global gayborhood in your pocket. Your role will impact the lives of millions of LGBTQ+ people around the world. Through our success, we are making a world where the lives of our community are free, equal, and just.

  • Family Insurance: Insurance premium coverage for health, dental, and vision for you and partial coverage for your dependents.

  • Retirement Savings: Generous 401K plan with 6% match and immediate vest in the U.S.

  • Compensation: Industry-competitive compensation and eligibility for company bonus and equity programs.

  • Queer-Inclusive Benefits: Industry-leading gender-affirming offerings with up to 90% cost coverage, access to Included Health, monthly stipends for HRT, and more.

  • Additional Benefits: Flexible vacation policy, monthly stipends for cell phone, internet, wellness, food, and commuting, breakfast/lunch provided onsite, and yearly travel & leisure stipend.
