JOB SUMMARY
This position performs advanced technical accounting functions to support accurate financial reporting and efficient Finance operations. Responsibilities include complex reconciliations, month-end close tasks, general ledger activity, insurance payment applications into the EHR, Accounts Receivable billing and collections for clients, technical AP/AR support, and preparation of audit and budget schedules.

ACCOUNTANT DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and post routine, recurring, and complex/correcting journal entries.
- Perform advanced account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- Apply insurance payments into the EHR and reconcile to bank activity and the general ledger.
- Perform Accounts Receivable billing to clients and Recovery Living, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Serve as backup for AP and Payroll runs as needed.
- Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare audit schedules and documentation for the annual audit.
- Provide reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity.
- Participate in cross-department collaboration related to billing/EHR workflows.
PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record payroll entries into general ledger.
- Review accounts receivable, calculate allowance and bad debt before recording revenues.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field and two years of accounting experience; or
- Associate degree in Accounting or Finance and five years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or human services environments.
- Experience with EHR billing or insurance payment posting.
- Business Central or comparable ERP experience.
- Experience supporting audits or regulatory reviews.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.
COMPENSATION
$23.40-$29.25 hourly
*Compensation for this position is based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
