Pulp Processing Manager
role supporting the Consumer Manufacturing Group located in
Muskogee, OK
. The Muskogee facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue, towel, and napkin products in a progressive production environment.
The Pulp Processing Manager oversees the daily operations and management of pulp and paper processing activities within a Georgia-Pacific facility. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production that meets company standards and customer requirements. The manager leads a team of operators and technical staff, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates across departments to optimize operational performance. This role will report directly to the Assistant Mill Leader.

What You Will Do
- Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
- Manage and direct pulp and paper processing operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and safety goals
- Develop and implement operational plans and schedules for the processing team
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of operators, technicians, and supervisors
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development plans
- Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing safety protocols and promoting safe work practices
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory compliance related to pulp and paper processing
- Analyze production data and process metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvements
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability
- Lead continuous improvement projects focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and product quality
- Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, and material resources effectively
- Coordinate procurement and inventory of raw materials and supplies
- Maintain clear and timely communication with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Prepare and present operational reports, including production performance, safety metrics, and improvement initiatives
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pulp and paper manufacturing or process operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of pulp and paper production processes, equipment, and quality control standards
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities managing diverse teams in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance in industrial settings
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field)
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and development
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with SAP
- Experience organizing, scheduling, and executing tasks
