Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and general office duties. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks
- Perform accounts payable and receivable tasks, including invoice processing and payment tracking
- Prepare journal entries and manage general ledger accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Perform general office duties.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including budgeting and account analysis
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Perform bank reconciliation to ensure all transactions are accounted for accurately
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
- Collaborate with team members on corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related field with a strong understanding of financial concepts
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero) is essential
- Familiarity with GAAP principles and double-entry bookkeeping practices
- Experience in preparing financial reports and conducting account reconciliation
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account analysis
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines
- Excellent 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry
- Knowledge of tax regulations and payroll processing is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
