POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Project Manager leads the end-to-end execution of commercial and industrial electrical projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with technical specifications and safety standards. This role oversees all phases of project development—from preconstruction planning and procurement through execution and closeout. Serving as the primary client liaison and internal leader, the Project Manager coordinates with engineers, field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure optimal project performance. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented leaders with deep knowledge of electrical systems, construction processes, and project management methodologies.

OBJECTIVES

  • Own the full project lifecycle, from estimating support and design review to procurement, execution, and project closeout.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and budgets, ensuring all milestones and financial targets are met.
  • Drive collaboration between field supervisors, subcontractors, and design professionals to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain active communication with clients, architects, and AHJs to manage expectations and mitigate risks.
  • Lead contract administration, change order management, and RFI/submittal processes with accuracy and speed.
  • Monitor job cost reports and labor productivity, adjusting forecasts and strategies as needed to protect profitability.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project issues, including scope gaps, schedule conflicts, and permitting delays.
  • Uphold company and regulatory safety standards through ongoing training, inspections, and enforcement of jobsite protocols.
  • Oversee project documentation using systems such as Procore, PlanGrid, and Bluebeam to ensure compliance and traceability.

COMPETENCIES

  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-value electrical projects concurrently across commercial/industrial sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, local codes, and commercial/industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, and cost control in a construction environment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Proficient in construction management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project, Bluebeam, Foundations).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics and ensure work meets quality and code standards.
  • Decisive problem solver with the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical construction with at least 3 years in a project management role.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred (State of Wisconsin).
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR Certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
