Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, with experience in handling various pets, particularly dogs. The Pet Groomer will be responsible for providing grooming services that ensure pets look and feel their best while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for animals and clients alike.

Duties

  • Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, and styling of pets, primarily dogs.
  • Handle animals safely and gently, ensuring proper restraint during grooming procedures.
  • Assess pet health and behavior to identify any potential health concerns or special needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work area to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions.
  • Assist with pet care routines such as feeding, walking, or administering medications if necessary.
  • Manage appointment schedules efficiently to accommodate client requests and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Follow safety protocols for animal handling and restraint to prevent injury or stress to pets.

Skills

  • Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care roles.
  • Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus.
  • Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting pets or equipment).
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.
  • Experience with kennel management or pet sitting is beneficial.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine love for animals and their well-being.
