Job Title: Clinical Medical Assistant

Job Description

Franklin Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to join the practice. The positon plays a key role in supporting the practitioner in the delivery of high-quality care in a holistic medicine practice. This position is responsible for patient in-take and providing patients with information regarding their care plan. The Clinical Medical Assistant plays an integral role in providing every patient with a positive and professional experience.

Responsibilities

Collect and document patient's medical history

Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record

Provides patients with information and instructions relevant to their treatment and aftercare.

Support patient understanding of care plan and wellness goals.

Answer patient's questions and escalate issues or concerns to practitioner.

Clean and prepare exam rooms in between patients.

Adhere to clinical protocols and standard operating procedures in alignment with HIPAA and OSHA.

Contribute to a positive, professional and patient centered office culture.

Provide back-up support to office manager as needed.

Requirements

High School diploma

Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent on-the-job experience coupled with postsecondary education.

Experience working in medical office in a role that interacts directly with patients.

Personal interest and / or experience in holistic health or integrated medicine.

Experience using Microsoft Office and other office management tools.

Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Strong customer service skills: effectively communicate in person, in writing and over the phone.

Strong planning and organizational skills.

Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.

Ability to communicate empathetically with chronically ill patients.

Strong critical thinking skills and be able to make sound decisions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
