YOUR PURPOSE AND FUNCTION IN OUR COMPANY:

The Business Analyst II achieves predictable outcomes and project success for the project portfolio through gathering and understanding business needs and translating to requirements for projects of moderate to high complexity. The Business Analyst II manages product visions and backlogs and represents stakeholders in order to drive the implementation of enhancements and new product offerings aligned with organizational strategy.

The Business Analyst II will:

  • Analyze business processes, identify process deficiencies, research solutions, and coordinate the remediation of identified deficiencies.
  • Work with functional area representatives and leaders to define project costs and benefits aligned with organizational strategy to construct business cases.
  • Maintain project alignment to business case and corporate strategies through continued formal and informal project reviews.
  • Elicit, identity, analyze and document project requirements and change requests.
  • Work with Project Managers to manage backlogs to ensure continuous alignment with organizational strategy and prioritize delivery of high value features and solutions.
  • Facilitate vendor selection process.
  • Act as liaison between various departments and vendors.
  • Contribute to quantitative risk assessments, providing inputs and analysis for risk.
  • Update project documentation and relevant knowledge bases; analyze lessons learned and share with other business analysts and team members.
  • Guide and peer coach Business Analyst I personnel; onboard and train new Business Analysts.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions, product demos, and product training when appropriate.
  • Complete a broad range of documentation and administrative tasks including scheduling and maintaining calendars, facilitating meetings, scribing and distributing meetings notes and action items, and other tasks as required.

Project Execution

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply project management principles and practices

  • Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or Associates degree with equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience in the insurance industry preferred
  • 3+ years' experience as a business analyst or similar role documenting business and technical requirements required
  • Active Certified PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) required, or working towards
  • Insurance industry related designation will be required within 18 months of employment
  • Proficient in technology platforms utilized by Preferred Mutual including but not limited to Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and internet-based applications, etc.

The base pay range for this position is $69,000 to $100,000 paid on a salaried basis. The rate offered to any candidate will be reflective of the candidate's experience and any relevant education, certification, or qualifications related to their ability to perform the responsibilities of this position as permitted by law.
